Sappho and LaRoyce Foundation has worked out of Philadelphia since 2018 as a educational forum to address the social determinants that are caused by domestic violence among women of color. Racial trauma is insidious and pervasive. Inter-generational trauma, racial trauma and gender injustice in the BIPOC community is directly connected to a shorter lifespan, higher rates of poverty, lack of quality education, health disparities, mental health challenges, and a decreased sense of belonging. We provide crisis intervention housing for up to 72 hours.
